Yarn and eliminating invasive species

For those of you ivy lovers, it is very destructive to trees.
My first spring project has been to eradicate it or control
the ivy climbing swiftly up my wonderful hackberry tree.

I have gotten halfway and now need to dig the ivy up
at the roots or use the hatchet and whack it.

I am using some flax yarn I bought at Stone Light Studio
to crochet a necklace/scarf for spring. It goes fast, is
eye-catching and is a simple stitch. A refreshing change
after so many heavy yarns.
