writing,hiking and reading

The book/short story is going well. It is very emotional.

Looks like the weather for hiking is good to go tomorrow.
We have received an excellent dose of autumn; cool breezes
and colors of gold, red and brown with a tinge of purple.

Reading? It is difficult but necessary to read about
Afghanistan right now.

Hooking - of course, I have just finished a beaUtiful hat
with green leaves. I plan on making one to wear and one
to give. I also have some felting projects in mind and on
the desk. Progress!

For those who felt, getting many different fabrics is a real
plus for trying different samples. An Ann Taylor blend
sweater felted well first. Then, the needling has gone smoothly
with use of Ozark handspun and my own flower design from roving.
Trying a piece with an upholstery velvet has given me practice with
more complex design; but, the needle breaks easily on this fiber.
